You know, maybe we're all thinking the wrong thing. Pee-Wee's Playhouse did have a lot of supporting characters. Maybe Bucky soulds like Chairy, Petri, or Cowboy Curtis instead of Pee-Wee himself.

My bad. I was thinking of Pterri. Petri is from The Land Before Time. Childhood memories mix-up there.

We all know that Lawrence Fishburne (Cowboy Curtis) went on to bigger and better things, but did "the prettiest Lady in Puppet Land" go on to anything else?

I always thought that Bucky had this voice that was like... sarcastic-toned, with just a hint of spunk to it... medium level, sort of average.

::confused::

I'll never be able to look at Bucky as he's stuck in his closet again.

In the dark...

Alone...

Acting like Pee Wee...

Looks like a lot of people are forgetting the strip from a while back that had already established Bucky's voice as being more on the high-pitched, whiny side.

It doesn't surprise me, but it's not his voice in my mind. I'll admit that I'm taking the voice different, I know that it's how Darby wants it, that's how it is. But if movie directors can still get payed a lot after changing scenes in book adaptions, I guess I can get away with a voice change.

Someone I know says that if they ever make an animated Get Fuzzy cartoon, the voices should be done by the actors that do Aqua Teen Hunger Force; Satchel would have Meatwad's voice, Rob would have Frylock's voice, and Bucky would have Master Shake's voice.

(Reply to this) (Thread)

[info]ruggerjill
2005-03-01 15:56 (link)
I've thought about their voices NUMEROUS times, hoping that this would become a cartoon, but half hoping that there wouldn't be one because it would probably ruin it.

Frylock is too bold and commanding for Rob. Any old normal not very unusual, maybe a bit on the geeky side male voice would work for me for Rob. I totally hear the Master Shake voice though for Bucky... I hear the attitude too.

DOes anyone remember the abominable snowman from the looney toons cartoons? The "I will love him and squeeze him and name him George." That's sort of the voice is what I Hear for Satchel. A big brute, not very intelligent sort of voice

In my ideal GF movie, Bucky would be voiced by none other than Danny DeVito. Satchel is more of a Will Ferrell type character. As for Rob, I'm thinking...anyone

Do Get Fuzzy characters often break the panel borders like that? It's common in comic books, but rare in syndicated dailies. I never noticed it in this strip before.

Looking back, it happens eery once in a while. Darby's much more creative with panel layout in general than most other cartoonists, though, so it stands to reason.
