Ok, this is nitpicky, but I take exception to describing puppetangel "as only Joss Whedon could imagine him". Ben Edlund wrote that episode, as well as the much loved "Jaynestown" episode of Firefly. He also created The Tick and grew up in the next town from me, which just goes to prove my theory that people from Massachusetts are just generally cooler than everybody else.

Given that basically the whole thread on "alot", "a lot" & "allot" is pointing out a mistake, you can hardly complain if someone (albeit tongue-in-cheek) points out that you made a mistake too. The whole thread was one started by someone pointing out that, shock horror, DARBY MADE THE 'ALOT' MISTAKE...

cue, several comments on how 'a lot' is two words, not one.

Followed by you pointing out (quite correctly) that "allot" is one word, although it needs two 'l's.

I point out that 'otherwise' is also one word, not two.

I get a stinging riposte about "stranger being a jackass and pointing out my mistakes"
