I just finished adding a few of the photos from Sunday's shoot to my Model Mayhem pictues page and realised that I really should pick some other photos to go there. I'd don't have any good runway examples.
Here I sit, on a fully-automated robot train, typing a message that I will trnasmit by radio to in-turn be relayed by wire and light to San Francisco where it will be automatically published. The message will be read on cathode ray tubes and liquid crystal displays across the continent from Vancouver to Los Angeles to Miami to New York. It will be read at opposite ends of the earth, from Europe to Australia. And this is all a routine part of my Monday morning commute.
Back when I was living in Gastown I used to see all sorts of odd animals walking along the railroad tracks. I found out then that the Grandview cut provides a corridor for wildlife travelling between Burnaby Lake Park and Stanley Park. Late one night I saw an animal I didn't recognize.
I've been doing some work on the Port Moody website (that's my job) regarding the new LRT line that will run from Lougheed to Coquitlam Centre. In doing this I went off on a tangent and started reading about the "Canada Line" subway connection between downtown, Richmond, and the airport.
