I just had to tell the one person that's been looking out for me through all this merger, hostile take-over, and related crap that I won't be available to extend or renew my contract because I have a new job starting immediately on the heels of the current contract.
I got the job at the City of Port Moody, they will be faxing me an offer today. I'll be CUPE (for my American friends, that would be the Canadian Union of Public Employees) whcih has it's pluses and minuses. I haven't been in a major union since I worked for the pulp mill (I'm not counting the useless union I was part of when working at the cinema).
